Meet our Volunteers

Chelsea

Chelsea has been volunteering at Barossa Wildlife Rescue since 2012. She met Rose after moving to Lyndoch at 9 years old and began volunteering with some of her friends from primary school. She continued to volunteer through high school and now as a university student she still visits weekly. Chelsea comes in once a week to feed all the animals and as of 2021 began training to do rescues and become a qualified wildlife rehabilitator. She is also a member of the Barossa Wildlife Rescue committee as the minute secretary.

Volunteering had a big impact on Chelsea and the direction she chose to take after high school. She is now studying a Bachelor of Science majoring in Ecology at the University of Adelaide with the hope of finding work in wildlife conservation research or ecological research. She plans to continue to expand her knowledge of Australia’s beautiful and unique native animals and hopes to work as a wildlife carer in her spare time.
